Pembroke Lodge, run by Pembroke Care, is a 20 bed family-run residential care home based in Reading, Berkshire. Pembroke Care have been using Mobile Care Monitoring to evidence care and support for their residents since 2013.
‘Life is much easier with Mobile Care Monitoring,’ says Queenie, a shift leader at Pembroke Lodge. She is keen to stress key benefits of Mobile Care Monitoring; the fact that staff save time on paperwork and, despite the increase of time given to care for service users, using the system improves rather than compromises the quality of care records. ‘The shift leader’s time is freed up from paperwork and the information we record is precise and more accurate’.
She continues: ‘Instead of updating each residents daily log which takes 2 hours every day, carers have the responsibility to record all the care they give to a service user, which leads to more detailed and accurate care notes and recording than short notes written for each service user by the shift leader.’ As care is recorded at point of delivery and always by the staff member who delivered it, Pembroke Lodge’s care notes are now much more valuable than a daily summary of care.
