Social care's staffing emergency – 580,000 recruits needed by 2035

The scale of the staffing crisis in UK social care is eyewatering. 580,000 extra workers are needed by 2035 to keep pace with the needs of our growing population. With low wages and no policy focus – the only realistic option is to make better use of the current resources, whilst maintaining the argument for greater resources and greater government focus.
