DepenSys is a unique web-based application for care home operators and managers to calculate staffing and skill mix based on residents’ needs. It is for both residential care homes and nursing homes.
By providing a means of quickly and easily entering the needs of each individual resident within a home, DepenSys gives the total number of hours per 24-hour day required to provide care and the ‘skill mix’ – the hours of senior care worker or nurse time for residential and nursing homes respectively. It enables staffing rotas to be modelled, and demonstrates how the planned staffing compares with the calculated levels.
Used in homes in England, Scotland and Wales, DepenSys is the result of over 30 years of research into systems of calculating staffing needs to deliver quality care and meeting the relevant regulatory requirements.
