Celebrating Innovations in Primary Care: Joint Finalists in the LASA 2021 innovAGEING Awards!

At Person Centred Software Australia, we are passionate about creating innovations in primary care that help care homes improve their residents’ quality of life.

This month, we are delighted to be joint finalists in the prestigious LASA innovAGEING National Awards 2021 with our wonderful customers, Embracia QLD.

Innovations in Primary Care: Celebrating Our Shortlisting

It’s an honour to be shortlisted in the ‘Improving Consumer Choice’ category for our work supporting care staff to meet an ever-growing workload.

The shortlisting celebrates Embracia QLD’s use of our digital care planning software, Mobile Care Monitoring, which enables them to focus on delivering high-quality, personalised care to residents, whilst allowing residents and their relatives to be actively involved in their care.

Embracia QLD: Documenting 11,520 Care Notes Per Day

Used to reduce the time it would take for care staff to transcribe care notes on paper, the team at Embracia QLD has been benefiting from our Mobile Care Monitoring system since 2019.

By enabling staff to record care interactions instantaneously at delivery, the icon-driven software also reduces the risk of errors or elements being forgotten. Furthermore, with all data recorded and stored in one central location that can be viewed instantly by anyone with access, the risk of data loss is reduced, too.

By reducing time spent away from residents completing documentation, Embracia QLD has seen increased activity from caregivers and a higher quality of care across both of its Queensland sites. Since implementing Mobile Care Monitoring into their Woodford and Burpengary aged care homes, Embracia QLD now documents an incredible 11,520 care notes per day for their 199 residents - the equivalent of 58 detailed care notes per resident per day.

Upon being shortlisted, Sue Davenport, Executive Manager at Embracia QLD, said: “Being recognised by such prestigious awards is a testament to our outstanding team. Our aim is always to deliver exceptional person-centred care to our residents and Person Centred Software has been integral to this. I am so immensely proud of everyone’s contribution and achievements”.

Innovations in Primary Care: Looking to the Future

Discussing the shortlisting, Jonathan Papworth, our founder, said, “We are delighted to be shortlisted with Embracia QLD in the prestigious innovAGEING National Awards. The team at Embracia QLD is constantly innovating to deliver improvements for residents - their use of our software is just one example of this. We are thrilled that Embracia QLD’s hard work has been recognised, and we look forward to hearing the results later this month”.

Along with Embracia QLD, we are in the running against four others to win the coveted accolade. The overall winners will be announced at the innovAGEING Awards event on 25 November 2021.

Recognising innovations in primary care, the innovAGEING Awards is now in its third year. It celebrates the achievements of organisations, teams, and individuals who have made the aged care sector more consumer-centred, and/or successfully implemented a new and better way of doing things in the service of older Australians.

Funded by the Australian Government and supported by its Foundation Partners, the Commonwealth Bank and KPMG Australia, innovAGEING’s national network includes providers, suppliers, researchers, consumer groups, investors and public sector agencies with a shared common purpose. Together, the network aims to accelerate innovation, translate ideas into action and deliver better outcomes for older Australians.

Whilst it is an achievement in itself to be shortlisted, we will be keeping our fingers crossed for a positive outcome at the awards ceremony later this month. Together with Embracia QLD, we’re looking forward to delivering more innovations in primary care - both through the use of Mobile Care Monitoring and our future developments.
