How to be CQC compliant in Oral Care

If you are looking to improve Oral Care for your residents, please join us on 27th June at 11:10 in the Business Theatre at Health + Care.  We will be discussing how to become CQC compliant in Oral Care with Jane Peterson, Founder of Knowledge Oral Health Care and Andrew Coles, Product Manager at Person Centred Software.

You will learn about the current state of oral care in residential homes, the importance of maintaining residents’ oral health and how care planning and effective data capture can improve how you manage someone’s oral care.

As people are keeping their teeth later in life, many people are entering residential care with their natural teeth, not dentures. Yet, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) report that, ‘more than half of older adults who live in care homes have tooth decay, compared to 40% of over 75’s who do not live in care homes’.

Did you know that 67% of people in residential care have at least some of their own natural teeth, yet over half of older adults who live in care homes have tooth decay?

Oral care is becoming increasingly important to monitor as it is clear that gum disease and heart disease go hand in hand; 91% of patients with heart disease have gum infections compared to 66% of people with no heart disease.

Jane Peterson and Andrew Coles will explain how to be CQC compliant in Oral Care on 27th June at 11.10 in the Business Theatre. Find out how Mobile Care Monitoring’s evidencing system supports management and evidence of oral health in care homes.
