We’re thrilled to announce that our partnership with Kimbolton Lodge marks 100 users of our innovative healthcare technology.

Kimbolton Lodge, a 36-bed care home located in Bedford, is proud to provide high-quality residential care and support for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, epilepsy and autism.

Having decided to take the next step to enhance their care offering, the Kimbolton Lodge team now utilises the GP Connect Access Record, which allows them to view GP records to streamline their processes.

The software integration between our Mobile Care Monitoring and GP Connect allows Kimbolton Lodge access to important GP information in record time by providing secure and direct access to resident medical records. In doing so, the care homes registered nurses can make better informed medical decisions quicker than previously possible, potentially saving lives.

Discussing their experience using the integration so far, Nicky, Home Manager at Kimbolton Lodge, said: ‘We are excited to have gone live with Person Centred Software’s integration with GP Connect, which connects care homes and GPs. It is a truly revolutionary integration that stands to benefit all involved in health and social care. Well done to everyone involved.’

Michelle McDermott, Programme Manager, GP Connect at NHS Digital said: ‘We’re delighted to see that GP Connect Access Record: HTML is being deployed in care homes. We’re keen to see more deployment in this care setting, and we are confident that this will deliver benefits for residents and their carers.’

Currently, 65 care providers, including Kimbolton Lodge, are utilising the integration between Mobile Care Monitoring and GP Connect, covering over 5,700 beds and 58 CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups). As a result, carers have been reporting a significant decrease in stress and time-saving benefits.

Discussing the importance of real-time data, particularly throughout the pandemic, Andrew Coles, our Head of Product Management, said: ‘The coronavirus pandemic has shown that information is necessary to help inform clinical decision making – and that making the best decisions saves lives. One of the outcomes of this world-changing event is that it has woken people to the need to share information quickly, securely and efficiently with those who need it.

‘The NHS Digital team engaged Person Centred Software at this time to enable GP information to be shared with authorised, registered clinicians in care providers. We were ready, willing and able to respond and grabbed the chance to work on this project as a priority to help care providers.’

Jonathan Papworth, our co-founder and director, added: ‘We have always strived to make life better for everyone involved in social care which has been achieved through our digital care software. This landmark innovation is a step change towards the integration of social care and health care which will improve the information flow as people transition between care settings. We’re delighted that Kimbolton Lodge will be our 100th customer to benefit from this, and we look forward to more social care providers following suit’.

On behalf of everyone at Person Centred Software, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at Kimbolton Lodge for sharing their experience of using the Mobile Care Monitoring and GP Connect integration. We’re thrilled that it’s had such a positive impact on their internal processes so far, and we look forward to seeing how care home technology continues to shape the future of their services.
