Person-centred since 2013
We're PCS, short for Person Centred Software, a social care technology company. We built the first mobile, icon-based care record in UK social care, the first e-Red Bag and the first GP Connect Link. Today, more than 8,900 homes use PCS.
Our solutions cover the whole of care: care planning and delivery, medication management, staffing and dependency planning, training, wellbeing and family communication.
Our intelligence draws on the UK's largest care dataset, with more than 15million care notes recorded every day. This is why we can help teams see what matters, understand why and act early.
We're committed to continually finding new ways to give carers the more time and more confidence to enrich the lives of those in their care.
Our mission and purpose
To help ensure every person in care is known, and every carer is seen.
Known means a person's history, preferences and idea of a good day go with them through every shift, so a change is noticed early and every decision is made with the whole story. Seen means the skill and experience of care teams are visible to everyone, from families to the whole sector, and valued as the expert work it is.
To give carers the time and the confidence they need to enrich the lives of those in their care.
A resident's life is continuous. The information behind their care often isn't. A missed dose, a quieter lunch, a change in mood: each is ordinary alone, and together they're a sign someone is changing. The PCS journey
PCS founded
Person Centred Software, now known as PCS, was founded in the UK by brothers Jonathan and Simon Papworth.
PCS Australia
We welcomed our first customers in Australia.
1,000 care providers
We reached the milestone of 1,000 care providers using our software.
Joining social care and health care
We went live in the UK with GP Connect and National Record Locator. This gives access for care homes with PCS to GP records for direct care purposes, and makes hospital packs from care homes available to NHS services.
PCS joined NHS Assured Solutions list
This list is a curated registry of Digital Social Care Record (DSCR) systems that have been vetted and approved by NHS England. By choosing an NHS Assured Solution, care providers know they're buying a reliable care management system which meets national standards for quality and data security.
Cow Corner become our majority investor
We welcomed Cow Corner, a Brighton-based investment company which focuses on services and software businesses in the UK.
PCS launched Nursecall
Nursecall is a messaging service that removes the need for pagers.
ATLAS joined PCS
ATLAS became our electronic medication administration record (eMAR) solution. From 2026, our eMAR is PCS eMAR by Camascope
Sunday Times Hundred
We were listed as one of Britain's fastest growing private companies in the Sunday Times Hundred.
Oomph Wellness joined PCS
Oomph is the UK's number one wellbeing digital solution for older adults. Today, Oomph is known as PCS Wellbeing
ISO 27001 certification
We were first certified to ISO 27001, the world’s leading international standard for managing information security.
DepenSys joined PCS
DepenSys is our staff dependency solution - it uses data about individual residents to calculate exact staffing levels, care hours and the required mix of staff and skills. Today, DepenSys is known as PCS Resource
ResHub joined PCS
ResHub is a resident experience tool purpose-built for social care. It connects care providers with residents and their families to optimise daily wellbeing, social engagement and care management. Today, ResHub is known as PCS Family
RedCrier joined PCS
RedCrier is a care staff learning and development solution. Today, Redcrier is known as PCS Learn
KareInn joined PCS
The move combined our expertise, knowledge and resources. KareInn is a care management system, like PCS Care

We won Social Care Technology Provider of the Year at the Health Investor Awards.
10 million care notes per day
We reached another milestone: more than 10 million care notes recorded per day by PCS users.
Clearcare joined PCS
Clearcare is the UK’s leading provider of children’s social care software.
Brighton Park Capital and Nic Humphries join PCS as investors
Brighton Park Capital is a growth equity firm focusing on growth-stage healthcare and tech-enabled services companies. Nic Humphries is a veteran tech investor.
Camascope joined PCS
The acquisition brings together best-in-class eMAR and digital care solutions for UK social care. Camascope CEO Kehan Zhou was appointed Group CEO of PCS.
