Evidencing Care for CQC with MCM

Evidencing person-centred care is crucial in care homes. Care information should be recorded quickly and be personalised for the resident. But it's not easy to do this on paper or other computer based administration systems as the information isn’t with staff when they need it.

Switching from paper to electronic care

Minster Grange Care Home switched to using electronic care planning from paper in 2017. Alison Redhead, Registered Manager, explains how using Mobile Care Monitoring has helped with evidencing care for inspections. Alison says, “CQC are looking for us to evidence that our care plans are very person-centred, and this software allows us to do this.” She continues, “Staff have got immediate access to care plans.”

GDPR and data security

The system has also helped Minster Grange with data security for GDPR. Alison says the system “gives us excellent information governance that is important that we can ensure we’re protecting the information which is personal.”

If you want to improve your care home’s records for CQC inspections, and make sure you are compliant for GDPR with your record keeping, have a look at GDPR resources for care homes.
