FAQs - ATLAS app v10
To help you prepare for the new ATLAS app, here are answers to common questions:
What's new in ATLAS v10?
ATLAS v10 features a cleaner, more accessible design with improved readability and navigation. The layout is refreshed but all functions remain in familiar locations. There’s a handy guide available in the ATLAS app, tap Help (the ‘?’ icon) or in ATLAS Central, click Help.
Will our workflows change?
No. With ATLAS v10 we’ve refreshed the interface to make it clearer and more accessible, and your team's workflows remain exactly the same. Medication rounds, pharmacy integrations and daily operations work just as they do today.
When will ATLAS v10 roll out?
We’ll begin the rollout in mid February and complete by the end of March. You'll receive ATLAS v10 automatically through the Google Play Store if your device is running Android 8 or newer and you have automatic updates enabled.
If you don’t have automatic updates enabled, then for each device, you’ll need to go to the Google Play store, search for ATLAS and tap Update.
How long will the upgrade take?
The ATLAS v10 update typically takes around two minutes per device, depending on your internet connection. The update will happen automatically.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
Make sure your devices have the latest version of ATLAS, v9.0.23. Check that devices running Android 8 or newer have automatic updates enabled in the Google Play Store. If you have devices on Android 7 or older, see below: What if my device is below Android 8?
What devices are compatible with v10?
ATLAS v10 works on Android 8 or newer. For the best experience and full support going forward, we recommend Android 13 or newer. If you're planning to replace devices, choose those with Android 13 or above.
What if my device is below Android 8?
Devices on Android 7 or older can’t receive ATLAS v10 or any future ATLAS updates. You'll need to replace these devices with models on Android 13 or newer to maintain access to ATLAS. For more detail, see below: What devices do you recommend?
What devices do you recommend?
To use ATLAS going forward, we recommend that the devices you use are on Android 13 or newer. For our current list of recommended devices and tips on what to buy, start a chat with us in the app or via the Support widget in ATLAS Central, or call us on 0117 200 1474. We're here from 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday except bank holidays.
I have a mix of old and new devices. What should I do?
Identify which devices are running Android 7 or older and plan to replace those devices running Android 13 or newer. Your devices running Android 8 or newer will upgrade automatically to ATLAS v10. If you’re not sure which devices need to be updated or replaced, get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
How do I check my Android version?
Open Settings on your device, scroll to About Device (or About Phone/About Tablet) and look for the Android version number. If you need help, start a chat in the ATLAS app.
What happens if I don't upgrade my old devices?
Devices that aren’t compatible won’t be able to update to the newest version of ATLAS (v10), you’ll simply remain on the version you currently have. We strongly recommend you update or replace any incompatible devices now so your team can use the new version of ATLAS for the best experience and full support.
Our devices are running old version of the ATLAS app (v7 or v8). What should I do?
Go to Google Play now to update ATLAS to the current version, v9.0.23. By doing this now, the update to v10 will be smoother. If you need help updating, get in touch with us.
Will I need to retrain my staff?
No. The interface is refreshed but workflows are identical. Your team will recognise the same screens and steps they use today. There’s a handy guide available in the ATLAS app, tap Help (the ‘?’ icon) or in ATLAS Central, click Help.
Can I delay the v10 update?
No. ATLAS v10 will roll out automatically to all compatible devices. This ensures everyone benefits from security updates, bug fixes and accessibility improvements. If you have concerns, please start a chat with us in the app or via the Support widget in ATLAS Central – we’ll be happy to help.
Will v10 affect my data or records?
No. All your medication records, care notes and historical data remain unchanged. ATLAS v10 only updates the interface, not your data.
What if I have issues after upgrading to ATLAS v10?
We're here to help resolve any issues quickly. Start a chat with us in the app or via the Support widget in ATLAS Central, or call us on 0117 200 1474. We're here from 8am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday except bank holidays.
Will updating to ATLAS v10 cost me anything?
ATLAS v10 is a free update. However, ATLAS v10 works best on Android 13 and newer. If your devices can’t update to Android 13 or newer, then you'll need to plan to replace devices to maintain the security and functionality of your devices and use the latest, fully supported version of ATLAS. For more detail, see above: What devices do you recommend?
