We understand that for someone living in care, maintaining a strong bond with their friends and family is one of the most important ways to maintain and improve their overall quality of life. While for many the winter period is a time of getting together and enjoying the festivities, for some older people the shorter days are lonelier and isolating (a recent report stated around 24% of older people have expressed concern that the festive period with heighten their sense of loneliness).

Bringing care home residents together with their families to celebrate the season of togetherness is crucial to tackling the chronic loneliness epidemic among older people, and that is why we have created Social Care's first Keeping in Touch Week #SCKeepingInTouch

Brought to you by Person Centred Software, from 18th to 24th November 2024, everyone involved in social care, whether it’s care providers, residents or their family members can get involved in a week of free activities and fun-filled initiatives that will bring together everyone involved in health and social care, enhance communication and community spirit, meaningful engagement and highlight the crucial role that keeping in touch with loved ones plays for the happiness of those living in care.

There are also some exciting prizes to be won during the week, so register below to get access to the free activities and find out more!
