PCS are pleased to announce their partnership with technology provider Vayyar Care
For ten years, Vayyar have been developing mmWave radar technology that is shown to enhance the safety of those living in care.
The Vayyar Care product is an end-to-end AI monitoring service that provides care providers with greater visibility of falls and the risk of falls occurring, ensuring a truly preventative approach to wellbeing and safety.
How does the Vayyar Care product work?
Vayyar’s radar technology provides the residents using the service complete privacy and dignity, as well as promoting higher levels of independence. It operates in all conditions, whether it’s in pitch darkness, steam or humidity, and to always ensure privacy, it does not use cameras or microphones.
Safeguarding against falls
According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), approximately 30% of falls in people aged 65 and over lead to serious injury, and in care homes, this percentage is even higher due to residents' frailty and comorbidities.
However, this risk to both physical and mental wellbeing can be reduced with use of the Vayyar technology in bathrooms and en-suite, which ensures residents will be safe in all areas of their care home.
A partnership in pursuit of greater wellbeing
The partnership with PCS will allow Vayyar to provide a comprehensive preventative approach to falls and falls risk coupled with the ability to monitor behavioural trends and demographics.
This joint solution will provide care services with accurate falls risk scores and analysis that will enable carers to employ a proactive approach to care. Facility operators will additionally benefit from staffing efficiencies, lower costs, and increasing length of stay.
