Helping to enhance the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of care staff and vulnerable care home residents
We are excited to announce that Oomph Wellness, the UK's number one wellbeing company for older adults, has joined our family of products!
With the acquisition of Oomph, we have now developed a digital superstructure that will improve the lives of an estimated quarter of a million people in the UK.
With this acquisition, over 5000 care homes will now have access to a multi-functional digital platform providing a wide range of services, from clinical best practices to activity-based programmes created to help residents live longer, healthier, and happier lives. Plans are also in place to expand the system internationally to other care sectors.
The Oomph Wellness team provides various services, including training and support to staff in around 1200 care homes throughout the UK, to improve older adults' mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
The London-based multi-award-winning social enterprise offers a variety of services and aims to change the impact of ageing in both care homes and community settings. Oomph's primary focus is to help older adults live life to the fullest by providing wellbeing training for staff and a wellness platform for residents and staff, which contains a wide range of resources and support, including activity ideas, exercise inspiration and training tools.
Similarly to Oomph, we also supply the care sector with solutions that improve residents' wellbeing and care outcomes by offering a wide selection of digital solutions.
They include a Digital Care Planning System (the UK's most widely used Digital Social Care Record, used by over 3,500 care providers), ATLAS eMAR (an alternative to paper-based MAR charts), a visitor management system (Digital Reception), a Maintenance Management tool, a Nursecall Messaging Service, Joined Up Care services, such as NEWS2 and GP Connect plus so much more!

It's been nearly eight years since we started working with Oomph, adding Oomph's activities into our digital care planning system to provide a way for joint customers to evidence resource use. Previously, care home providers had to log in to numerous systems, but with the acquisition of Oomph, they can now move towards a seamless user experience. Furthermore, Oomph's content teams can now react to data shared in the Digital Care System, which increases the impact and value of integrating both systems.
Care providers can now measure the impact of health outcomes, activities, and wellbeing through the integration of two systems.
While Oomph on-demand has been primarily focused on resident wellness, it will now be able to enhance the high-quality expert content that links care and wellness together. This will improve the quality of life of care workers even more through its new partnership with Teladoc health, a multinational telemedicine and virtual healthcare company.
As a result of bringing Oomph under our umbrella of products, we will be able to develop more innovative solutions that will allow care providers to participate and engage in meaningful interactions and activities on a daily basis, incorporating activities into every interaction, strengthening and supporting staff development, and demonstrating the critical importance of wellness for physical and mental wellness.
Most of the Oomph team will join us and work on the Oomph product set, with opportunities to move into other areas of the business.
Andrews Coles, CEO of PCS, says:
"Our mission at Person Centred Software is to improve the lives of those living and working within care home communities across the globe. Adding the Oomph product and team to the portfolio further drives us towards this goal. Oomph is another piece of the ecosystem of care jigsaw that focuses on the wellness of mind, body and soul.
By combining wellness and digital care, we will be uniquely positioned to bring an innovative, cutting-edge solution to the market that pushes wellness to the forefront of the agenda. In addition, combining care and wellness information will further enrich lives and provide insight and evidence into the impact wellness has on the care outcomes of people who live in care. It is a truly exciting opportunity, and we welcome the Oomph team into the PCS family".
Ben Allen, Founder of Oomph, says:
‘’The training we provide to care home staff over the last decade has focused on improving the lives of older people through delivering engaging, meaningful and highly impactful exercise classes and group activities.
We have worked closely with PCS for a number of years, most recently on the integration between Oomph on-demand and PCS, which allowed us to learn more about each other's businesses in terms of how we can work together to impact and improve the quality of life positively.
The care sector is highly fragmented, and that fragmentation is unfortunately felt within the supplier sector too, which ultimately creates a poor experience for care workers. However, the partnership with PCS will provide a unique chance to offer a single interface to an ecosystem of services in a way that will make a real difference.’’
As we enter our next growth phase, Ben Allen will join PCS to support the successful integration of new products into the business, seeking new opportunities and more innovative solutions for the market.
With Oomph now owned by PCS, we will continue to work with new and existing partners to ensure care providers have the flexibility around the systems that best suit their needs.
Our core mission is to provide care providers with a one-stop solution for all their needs, providing a complete ecosystem of care with an unrivalled selection of best-in-class partners to choose from. In addition to this, we are also working hard to set the bar for digital solutions in the care sector that go beyond the traditional digital care planning system.
Besides the above, our team is working in partnership with the ICSs, helping care providers across the UK complete the necessary funding documents for the Adult Social Care Digital Transformation Fund.
