Drovers House, one of WCS Care's homes, was awarded an Outstanding CQC rating in July. This is the 6th outstanding rated home for WCS Care and the first to achieve the outstanding rating with Mobile Care Monitoring already implemented.
Key points picked up in the CQC inspection report relating to Mobile Care Monitoring are:
- The provider's use of innovative technology to improve people's care
- All the information in the care plan is available to care staff electronically in the handheld device whilst they are evidencing care
- Alerts for the management team are raised automatically if someone hasn't been weighed, didn't eat well, or if their weight dropped
- Time critical actions were flagged in red for care staff if care tasks aren't done, in order to minimise risks relating to time specific medications, fluid intake, skin integrity and wellbeing checks
- The Relatives Gateway kept families fully involved in their relatives' care
- Duty managers were able to monitor the quality of the service through monthly audits of people’s medicines, complaints, accident and incident records and housekeeping records
